Chester Zoo covers 100 acres, with 500 species of animals, founded in 1934.
Educational talks can be had on Elephants, Lions, Chimps and many more - varied throughout the season. You can take the "zoofan" railway, a monorail and waterbus transport system. The aim of the Zoo is to help save endangered species from extinction and runs an active breeding programme.
Soviners can be bought at various shops and snacks and ice creams are available at the cafe, tea room, restaurant, bar and ice cream kiosks!
