This beautiful Georgian mansion is set in a 500 acre landscaped park on the banks of the River Plym. It is also the film set of Sense and Sensibility.The house is set in the style of a George 2nd mansion with its own original contents. The previous building was a Tudorn Mansion which was replaced by Robert Adam in 1743, for the Parker family. Saltram is some of the best surviving works of Adam's. There are architectural drawings which can be seen within the home.Saltram is well known for its collections of furniture, China and art works. The mansion also has timeless portraits by Angelica Kauffman and Joshua Reynolds a friend of the Parker family.The Kitchen is not as flamboyant as the rest of the home buts similary as striking with its contents of 18 century tools and furnishings. The house is situated in 500 acres of Parkland, with woodland walks beside the River Plym. Bodering the house is a set of 18 century gardens. There is a mutiple programme of events, also an art and crafts gallery, woodlands and riverside walk and the garden.Saltram celebrates 50 years of ownership by the National Trust .

The restaruant serves a variety of hot and cold refreshments.
