This is a valley garden deep in a Dorset Combe among rolling hills and unspoilt countyrside. Going down from the great lawn, you pass the formal topiary on the way to the valley garden. There is a manor house with church, stables, coach house and dove cote.

The house is Elizabethan in orgin, a wonderful example of a west country manor, enlarged in the late 1670's. It is now occupied by the Earl and Countess of Sandwich and is a family house dating back to the restoration of King charles 2nd when the first Earl of Sandwich brought him back from Holland.

Gardens and All Saints Church:1st March – 31st October daily except Saturday 11am - 5 pm

House: Weekdays 22nd June – 31st July, as well as Bank Holidays 25th May and 31st August, 2 - 4.30pm

(last admissions 4pm). Other times by appointment. Booking is advisable.

The Sawmill Café: Daily except Saturday, Mid March - September 11am - 5.30pm for lunch and tea.
