This page is about Royal Navy Submarine Museum in Gosport, Hampshire
Get inside a World War 2 Submarine at this hands-on museum. Find out about life at, and under the sea from personal accounts. You can also learn about submarine development, from the very early designs (such as 'Holland 1') right through to modern day vessals (such as the Royal Navy's Vanguard class), exploring there many uses including scientific exploration, warfare, peace keeping and piracy!
There is an impressive collection of submarines...and torpedos! Each visitor gets a film show and a guided tour by an ex submariner (Who better to learn from?) of HMS Alliance. You will also find picture galleries and exhibits on display, with the opportunity to view Portsmouth through real working periscopes from HMS Conqueror.
Also pay a visit to the Falklands War section and the remembrance area, commemorating persons who devoted their lives to Submarines.
Children will enjoy trying their hand at Captaining a Submarine in the control room!
