This page is about Sir Harold Hillier Gardens in Romsey, Hampshire
No owned by Hampshire County Council, the gardens which were once known as the Hiller arboretum, are named in the memory of their founder who transfered the land around his home into a hardy collection of trees and shrubs comprising some 12,000 types planted across 180 acres.
There will be something interesting to see through out the year - From January to the fiery hues of Autumn, with flowering camellias, magnolias, rhododendrons and azaleas. In 1997 the gardens were included in the English Heritage register of parks and gardens of special historic interest.
As well as the main gardens you will find the Gurkha memorial garden with an extensive collection of Nepalese plants. Also, the gardens boast the largest Winter Garden in Europe.
