2009 is the 500th Anniversary of the Manners Family at Belvoir Castle. Every weekend throughout the year special events take place such as an Easter egg hunt, a steam festival. In December 1 - 13 (except 5 and 12) there is Christmas Fantasia.

The magnificent Castle contains miltary treasures, period art, tapestries and furiniture. The GHrand State rooms will intrigue you and the Old Kitchen and Bakery will show you life below stairs in 1825. In the school room and nursery children can expeience lessons and games from Regency times.

Guided tours with the knowlegdgeable Guides often in costume, take place on week days 12.30 and 2.30 pm or at weekends for pre booked groups.

There are glorious gardens to be seen and admired and a restored woodland path leads to a Victorian valley garden called the Duchess's garden. Children can enjoy the daily belvoir bear hunt and a quiz and the adventure playground provides fun and activity.

The Stewards Restaraunt is liscensed and serves hot lunches, cold snacks and afternoon tea. The Belvoir Ice Cream Parlour serves delicious ice cream and drinks etc, throughout the day.

There are 2 gift shops with a wide range of momentos.

Groups and coaches are welcome and weddings and corporate events can be tailored to individual requirements.

The Castle and Gardens are now closed to day visitors until Easter Sunday 2014. Opening dates are listed below.

On the days when the Castle and Gardens are open to day visitors, the hours are from 11.00am - 5.00pm. Entry to the Castle is usually by guided tour only at 11.15am, 1.15pm and 3.15pm. Please allow at least 15 minutes to walk from the ticket office to the Castle where the tour begins.

On very busy days such as Bank Holidays, guided tours may not take place and instead, free flow around the Castle will be permitted (guides in the rooms will answer any questions). Free flow will not be permitted on less busy days.

Parking is at the bottom of a relatively steep hill, beside the ticket office / tea rooms, where light refreshments can also be purchased. The Castle is accessible only via a 5-10 minute walk up the hill.

Please be aware that CCTV cameras are in operation at the main gates to the Estate.

The Castle and Gardens will be open on the following Sundays and Mondays in 2014:

April 20, 21,

May 4, 5, 18*, 25,26

June 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, 30

July 6*, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28**

August 3**, 4**, 10**, 11**, 17**, 18**, 24**, 25**, 31**

*National Garden Scheme Opening days
** On these ten dates, tours of the private apartments can take place by payment of an extra supplement of 30.00 to normal ticket prices and by informing Mr Harvey Proctor on at least one week in advance of a desire to take such a tour.

The Gardens ONLY will be open on the following dates in 2014:

April 15, 22, 29

May 6, 13, 20, 27

June 3, 10, 17, 24,

July 1, 8
