2009 is the 500th Anniversary of the Manners Family at Belvoir Castle. Every weekend throughout the year special events take place such as an Easter egg hunt, a steam festival. In December 1 - 13 (except 5 and 12) there is Christmas Fantasia.

The magnificent Castle contains miltary treasures, period art, tapestries and furiniture. The GHrand State rooms will intrigue you and the Old Kitchen and Bakery will show you life below stairs in 1825. In the school room and nursery children can expeience lessons and games from Regency times.

Guided tours with the knowlegdgeable Guides often in costume, take place on week days 12.30 and 2.30 pm or at weekends for pre booked groups.

There are glorious gardens to be seen and admired and a restored woodland path leads to a Victorian valley garden called the Duchess's garden. Children can enjoy the daily belvoir bear hunt and a quiz and the adventure playground provides fun and activity.

The Stewards Restaraunt is liscensed and serves hot lunches, cold snacks and afternoon tea. The Belvoir Ice Cream Parlour serves delicious ice cream and drinks etc, throughout the day.

There are 2 gift shops with a wide range of momentos.

Groups and coaches are welcome and weddings and corporate events can be tailored to individual requirements.

: Entry to the Castle is by guided tour for day visitors at: 11.15am, 1.15pm and 3.15pm . Please allow/usually 15 minutes to walk from the ticket office to the castle where the tour begins.

Gardens are open: 11.00am - 5.00pm.

The Castle and Gardens will be closed on all other dates - we recommend that you telephone in advance on 01476 871002 if you are travelling from a long distance.
