Ingleborough Mountain is one of the famous 3 peaks of the Yorkshire Dales. The National p[ark is famous for its caves and potholes. The area contains a maze of underground passages and watercourses hollowed out of limestone rock over thousands of years. The glaciers of the Ice Age a unique and pictureque landscape. Ingleborough Cave was discovered in1837 and regular tours are conducted through the floodlit pasages.

The cave is suitable for toddlers in single width pushchairs and dogs on leads are allowed too, Natural underground features make it unsuitable for wheelchairs. The cave has a shop which sells postcards and souvenirs and tours depart from here every hour on the hour.

The Cave entrance gives little hint of what awaits you. The tour is almost an hour long the 1km journey taking you back into the mists of time. To reach the cave visitors walk from the car park, following the river pasting the church and waterfall to the old saw mill and the entrance to the estate nature trail. A small charge is made for the trail of 1 and a half miles - up to the open Dale and cave entrance which takes about half an hour. After your visit to the cave you can do even more exploring and keener climbers can carry on to the summit of the mountain 2 hours from the cave.

open every day from the beginning of the February half-term to the end of October. Tours start on the hour, every hour, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. During holiday periods the last tour is at 5.00 pm,
