Hawes a busy little market town is home to a number of craft shops including a ropemakers, and Wensleydale Pottery. Visit the Herriot Tea Room and view the latest regional arts within the gallery.
Leaving Hawes and onto Hardraw the road then climbs over Butter Tubs pass. At the village of Muker visit Swaledale Woolens. Onto the village of Reeth and visit the cabinet maker, the clockworks, Michael Kusz sculptures and pendangles fused glass. On again to Leyburn to visit to travel on the Wensleydale Railway. Going down to Northallerton, five minutes from the station you can visit the little Chocolate shop.
Neary by are the hsitoric castles of Bolton and Middleham.
At Askrigg much of James Herriot's All Creatures Great and Small was filmed - so fans will want to viosit here. There is so much to see and do here form the Wensleydale longwool sheep shop at Garriston to Focus On Felt at Hawes or the animal sculptures and models at Reeth Dales Centre and more
