This is the ultimate Cheese Experience!
Visit the Wensleydale Cheese Museum. The first Wensleydale Cheese was made by Cistercian monks who settled in Wensleydale in 1150.
The museum guides you through the history of Wensleydale Cheese through the centuries.
You will see the original Farmhouse Dairy, The Press room and the Maturing room.
The specialist cheese shop has a delicious range of cheeses which you can try before you buy. The cheeses are traditionally waxed and muslin bound which you will find hard to choose from!
The Gift shop offers a wide range of local produce, crafts and quality gifts from biscuits and jams to tea towels an d china.
Watch the cheese making in the Viewing Gallery overlooking the creamery - see milk converted into cheese before your eyes and see the skilled craftsmen stirring and cutting the cheese by hand.
Relaxing in the buttery restaurant and coffee shop, with a varied menu all freshly prepared on the premises, spectacular views and Wensleydale Cheese is a great way to conclude your visit.
