Deep below Ingleborough Hill in the Yorkshire Dales National Park li9es a hidden world sulpted by nature over thousands of years.
Streams and waterfalls, exotic cave formations and a huge ice - age cavern and thousands of stalacities form White Scar Cave.
The tour begins near the original entrance which was discovered in 1923. You will see curious formations including the Devil's Tounge, the Arum Lily and Judge's Head.
The Highlight of the tour is the 200,000 year old Battlefield Cavern. Prehistoric mud pools are a special feature - never disturbed by man.
The covers one mile and takes about 80 minutes.
The Visitor Centre has an eco - friendly turf roof, helping to protect the enviroment.
There is an alpine - style cafe with splendid views over the Dales to the Coast. The cave shop stocks five mineral specimens, jewllery and more.
Thecave stays cool (8c 46f) throughout the year, so pullovers and jackets are necessary. Hard hatsare provided but high heels are not suitable. There are 2 low - roof areas and 97 steps
