The Roman Baths in Somerset

This page is about The Roman Baths in Bath, Somerset

Visit the Bath house where local residents and pilgrims bathed 2000 years ago. Here in the heart of Bath lie the stone remains of one of the finest religious spa in the ancient world. Here can be seen the ruins of the temple of Mineroa, goddess of the thermal spring.

The hot springs are the only ones in the UK.

For many centuries millons of litres of naturally hot water have bubbled up from the deep underground. You can share glimpses into the everday life of the Roman people. There are models of the site and the fourth century rooms reconstructed as they were. With commentaries and computer visuals. You will need at least 2 hours for this unique experience.

The Roman Baths shop and Pump Room Restaurant are open daily - accessable form Stall Street and Abbey Church Yard in the heart of this beautiful city.

There is also a children's audio tour told by Micheal Rosen.
