This page is about Longleat Safari Park in Warminster, Wiltshire
Longleat House is set in 900 acres and is one of the most beautiful stately homes open to the public. The 6th Marquees of Bath realised that his house could become a major tourist attraction and was the first stately home to open to the public.
In 1966 Longleat opened the first Safari Park outside Africa. There was a tremendous local uproar when the plans for a 100 acre lion reserve were revealed. There were even questions asked in parliament. Forty years on Longleat Safari Park is hugely popular and is one of the country's leading wildlife attractions.
There are also Safari Boats, Longleat Railway, Adventure Castle and of course a Hedge Maze and plenty more for a fun packed day!
