This page is about Royal Armouries Fort Nelson in Fareham, Hampshire
This Victorian fort, built in 1860 plays host to literally hundreds of guns and cannon from around the World, there are secret tunnels to explore, and underground chambers. You can hear exciting stories on a hand held electronic guide or take a full guided tour.
Every day the great guns are fired in salute which will add to the excitement of your visit as will the live trained actors giving you the opportunity to meet a world war 2 commando amoungst others.
There are various special events held through out the year such as WWII Blitz and Battle, Solders of the Queen, Fire and Sword and 'The war to end all wars'.
There are Childrens activites held during half term, easter and summer holidays.
For a bite to eat or a drink there is the Powderkeg Cafe, gifts and Souvenirs are available from the gift shop.
